Day 1 THURSDAY We make our way into Dorset, stopping in Poole for lunch. On into Devon, we arrive at our hotel in the afternoon.
Day 2 FRIDAY Discover the historic charm and vibrant atmosphere of Exeter. Wander through its medieval streets, lined with centuries-old buildings and boutique shops, before immersing yourself in its rich heritage at attractions like Exeter Cathedral and the Royal Albert Memorial Museum. Don't miss a stroll along the picturesque Exeter Quayside, where you can savour local cuisine at waterside restaurants and enjoy scenic views.
Day 3 SATURDAY A morning visit to the famous Donkey Sanctuary and meet Drizzle, the Woods’ adoptee, followed by an afternoon at leisure in Sidmouth.
Day 4 SUNDAY Enjoy the tranquil waters of the River Exe as we cruise through a constantly changing landscape that is home to a wide range of wildlife and migrating birds that make for magnificent viewing in the winter season. Departing from Exmouth Marina, we cruise along the peaceful waters of the river towards Powderham Castle and along to where the river ends on Exmouth’s traditional seafront. The indoor heated lower decks have large windows for great viewing.
Day 5 MONDAY Leaving our hotel after breakfast, we travel home via Dorchester. We reach the local area late afternoon.
