Itinerary

Day 1 MONDAY We head for the West Country making a suitable stop for lunch en-route, arriving in Barnstaple during the afternoon.

Day 2 TUESDAY We visit RHS Rosemoor Gardens. This 40-acre garden, lying in the Torridge Valley, close to Great Torrington, offers something for all garden lovers including the mature Lady Anne’s Garden and its adjacent arboretum, the formal gardens, a rock gorge and a stream and bog garden – a true garden for all seasons!

Day 3 WEDNESDAY In the morning we are free to enjoy the old-world charm and friendly atmosphere of Barnstaple. In the afternoon, we visit the historic, picturesque fishing village of Appledore. Situated at the confluence of the Taw and Torridge rivers, Appledore is renowned for its maritime heritage, narrow cobbled streets, and colourful, pastel-painted cottages.

Day 4 THURSDAY This morning, we will visit Lynton and Lynmouth. These picturesque twin towns are located on the rugged Exmoor coastline, with bustling Lynmouth on the shore and clifftop Lynton offering superb views. The two are connected by the Cliff Railway, the highest and steepest fully water powered Victorian railway in the world (extra charges payable locally).

Day 5 FRIDAY After breakfast we are homeward bound, with suitable refreshment stops along the way.
