Join us on a visit to The Thursford Spectacular, a world-renowned Christmas variety show held annually in an otherwise sleepy village in Norfolk. Featuring a huge cast of talented singers, dancers, and musicians – many from West End stages - this fast-moving three-hour celebration of the season artfully combines famous chart-toppers performed with more traditional carols and year-round favourites. The Spectacular has become a highlight of the holiday season, offering audiences a memorable experience with its blend of traditional Christmas themes and dazzling entertainment, drawing visitors from all over the world.
Day 1 TUESDAY We travel to our hotel near Norwich via the charming town of Colchester.
Day 2 WEDNESDAY Thursford Spectacular! After a relaxed breakfast we travel to Thursford. We arrive with time to get lunch and visit the shops before the afternoon performance.
Day 3 THURSDAY Today we visit Blickling Estate, where you will have time at leisure to explore the wonderful Jacobean mansion and 55 acres of formal gardens. Mentioned in the Domesday Book, Blickling Estate is believed to have been the birthplace of Anne Boleyn and offers a captivating glimpse into England's rich history. Explore its opulent rooms, from the Great Hall to the Long Gallery where each room is filled with its own stories and history.
Day 4 FRIDAY We return home with a stop in Bury St Edmunds before returning to the local area and our taxis home.
A majestic, Elizabethan-style mansion, built in 1859 and lovingly restored to its former glory, set in 150 acres of beautiful wooded Norfolk parkland.
