Southport is one of the most popular resorts in the UK. Combining beautiful beaches, fantastic shopping and attractions including the UK’s oldest iron pier, there really is something for everyone.
Day 1 MONDAY A morning departure to meet your tour coach, and then we travel north to Southport with suitable refreshment stops along the way.
Day 2 TUESDAY Travelling via Crosby Beach we view the ‘Another Place’ art installations - 100 spectacular cast-iron, life-size figures by Anthony Gormley spread across three kilometres of the foreshore and stretch almost one kilometre out to sea. From here we continue to Liverpool’s Royal Albert Dock, home to multiple museums, including the Tate Liverpool and the Maritime Museum plus many historic buildings.
Day 3 WEDNESDAY A day at leisure in Southport. Maybe take a relaxing stroll by Marine Lake and along the promenade or take the tram to the end of the pier. Charming Lord Street, with its glass-canopied shops is home to a superb range of specialist shops.
Day 4 THURSDAY Today we visit RHS Bridgewater Gardens, a spectacular garden set in 154 acres within the grounds of Worsley New Hall that is a delight for any gardener and historian to visit. Spring brings swathes of sunny daffodils, fresh bright blooms on fruit trees, and a sense of welcoming new life for the year ahead.
