Enjoy three nights of entertaining and humorous after dinner talks. Sit back after dinner and listen to the life stories of three people from the world of entertainment. First night we have Britain's most famous Women’s Institute member, Patricia Stewart, the original ‘CALENDAR GIRL’ whose story became a hit movie starring Helen Mirren and Julie Walters. On the second night we present ‘LIFE AS A TILLER’ by Jackie Simmonds. During the 1950s and 1960s the Tiller Girls established themselves as the premier dance troupe on British commercial television, being associated particularly with the iconic ‘Sunday Night at the London Palladium’. On the final night we present ‘MY LIFE ON BOARD THE QE2’. Mike James was musical director from 1981 until the mid-90s on this worldfamous ship. Working with such famous people as Bob Hope, Bert Bacharach and Vera Lynn. Listen as he talks about the ups and downs of life on board ship.
Day 1 FRIDAY A morning departure to meet your tour coach, and then we travel north to Lincolnshire with suitable refreshment stops along the way.
Day 2 SATURDAY We visit the beautiful city of Lincoln, with its tangle of cobbled medieval streets and colossal 12th-century cathedral.
Day 3 SUNDAY We travel to Barnsdale Gardens, created and made famous by gardener Geoff Hamilton and the BBC programme Gardeners’ World. Discover 38 gardens within 8-acres of land with useful tips for your own garden, however big or small.
Day 4 MONDAY After breakfast we depart our hotel, arriving home during the early evening.
