Get ready for ‘take off’ on this tour which celebrates the aviation heritage of Lincoln and its role in WWII.
Day 1 MONDAY A morning departure to meet your tour coach, and then we travel north to North Lincolnshire with suitable refreshment stops along the way.
Day 2 TUESDAY This morning, we travel to the Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Museum, home to one of only three remaining Avro Lancaster bombers. We then travel onto We’ll Meet Again Museum. There are Homefront exhibits, including a typical ‘shop’ counter of the period. Elsewhere there are Women’s Land Army artefacts, nurse’s uniforms, children’s toys, equipment used in the home at that time from mangles to mincers, there is also an Anderson Shelter and blitz experience.
Day 3 WEDNESDAY After breakfast we visit the historic city of Lincoln, whose cathedral towers majestically overlook the city and its many other historic attractions including a Norman castle and charming medieval and Georgian houses.
Day 4 THURSDAY Today, our ‘Aviation Heritage’ theme continues with a visit to the International Bomber Command Centre – a world class facility that serves as a point of recognition and remembrance for Bomber Command. In the afternoon we continue to the delightful village of Woodhall Spa with its Dambuster’s connections and its unique Kinema in the Woods.
Day 5 FRIDAY After breakfast we depart our hotel, arriving home during the early evening.
