A delightful tour for lovers of all things with feathers or fur as we meet exotic wild animals and a host of birdlife in two wonderful locations.
Day 1 We make our way to the pretty market town of Marlborough in Wiltshire in time to get some lunch. We then continue to our hotel to be greeted with tea and cookies.
Day 2 This morning we travel into the Cotswolds and visit Burford, famous for its medieval architecture, including the pretty church and several historic buildings on the High Street. Our afternoon is spent at the remarkable Cotswold Wildlife Park, where you will find over 160 acres with botanic gardens, beautifully landscaped grounds and over 1000 animals including giraffes, rhinos, lemurs, penguins and lions.
Day 3 Travelling west, we reach Slimbridge Wetland Centre – the wetland that inspired Sir Peter Scott to found the Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust in 1946. Visit the Scott House Museum, discover a huge variety of birdlife, stroll through the Waterscapes Aviary or experience a talk or bird demonstration in the Living Wetland Centre. On our return, we visit Tetbury, well-known for its beautifully preserved Cotswold stone buildings and historic charm.
Day 4 Departing after breakfast, we travel down to Winchester, where we have some free time, before continuing our journey home.
