Chase away the winter blues with a short break to the ever-popular Portbyhan Hotel, found in the twin towns of East Looe and West Looe, which sit either side of the river and form a vibrant and picturesque base for our tour. Here we start Christmas early with festive celebrations and entertainment at our beautifully decorated hotel.
Day 1 THURSDAY We pick you up from your door before joining our tour coach to travel across country and into Cornwall, making suitable refreshment stops along the way. We are greeted at our hotel with a cream tea.
Day 2 FRIDAY We spend the day at the Eden Project, where you can explore the world’s biggest conservatory containing lush tropical plants. As Winter approaches nature puts on its spectacular display of vibrant hues of red, orange, and gold, there is no better time to explore the enchanting beauty of Autumn at the Eden Project.
Day 3 SATURDAY After a leisurely breakfast we head to the vibrant town of Plymouth. Here you could explore the museums, gin distillery, the UK’s largest aquarium (entry costs not included) or do a little Christmas shopping. We return to our hotel mid-afternoon.
Day 4 SUNDAY This morning is free in Looe, a town split in two and joined by a bridge, with narrow streets, quaint shops, cafés and harbour front to explore. Make your way back to the hotel, where this afternoon you can join our hosts for bingo and a quiz.
Day 5 MONDAY We travel homewards with suitable refreshment stops, before reaching the local area early evening.
Our award-winning, family-run three-star hotel is situated on the quayside in Looe, overlooking the picturesque harbour. There is a bar, lounge, terrace and the Harbour View Restaurant serves locally sourced menus. Bedrooms have TV, telephone, WiFi, hairdryer and hospitality tray. The hotel has a lift and there is entertainment some evenings.
