Spend a day in DCI Barnaby’s hometown of Causton, visiting the locations used on the TV series Midsomer Murders. We are met by our guide who will take you around locations of over 20 episodes. We also visit the City of Oxford and Winston Churchill’s home, the magnificent Blenheim Palace.
Day 1 THURSDAY Following your home taxi collection we join our tour coach and make our way to Oxfordshire and our hotel.
Day 2 FRIDAY We are joined onboard our coach by our experienced guide for the day, who will take you on an excursion through the beautiful little towns, villages and rolling hillsides of Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire. You will hear stories and history, bringing to life the locations used in the filming of the well-known TV series Midsomer Murders.
Day 3 SATURDAY This morning we head to the City of Oxford, where we are once again met by our guide for a walking tour around this wonderful city pointing out filming locations from the TV series Inspector Morse. After our tour, the rest of the day will be at leisure. The ‘City of Dreaming Spires’ is crammed full of treasures. From museums and galleries to cobbled streets bursting with boutiques, you will be spoilt for choice with how to spend the rest of your day.
Day 4 SUNDAY A day at Blenheim Palace. Step inside the Palace and explore the gilded State Rooms filled with priceless collections set against the beauty and magnificence of this Grade I listed building. Wander outside and discover the unique history of the formal gardens, get lost in the maze and explore the trails in the walled gardens.
Day 5 MONDAY Sadly this morning we depart our hotel and head homewards, making suitable stops along the way, arriving during the afternoon.
This lovely hotel is surrounded by 17 landscaped acres off the M40, just 15 minutes from Oxford and Blenheim Palace. The ensuite guestrooms at the hotel are set around 2 courtyards with flower borders and a sparkling fountain. They feature TV, telephone, Wi-Fi and 24-hour room service. The leisure facilities include a heated indoor pool, sauna, tennis courts and gym. The hotel has a lift.
