Christmas is on the way, so seize the chance to get ahead with your gift shopping at the bustling Christmas Markets of Bath and Winchester. Traditional wooden chalets offer unique and handmade products, and a range of food stalls cooking up tasty festive treats, all among the unique surroundings of the impressive Bath Abbey & Winchester Cathedral.
Day 1 THURSDAY We travel across country to Bristol and visit the modern harbourside where we step aboard SS Great Britain – the ship that changed the world. This passenger steamship was designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel and was the first iron steamer to cross the Atlantic. We continue to our hotel for our evening meal and a two-night stay.
Day 2 FRIDAY We travel the short distance to Bath, where you have all day to explore this beautiful town, designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site, there are numerous attractions you might like to visit, or you could just spend the day at the award-winning Christmas Market. More than 200 wooden chalets are set in the picturesque streets surrounding Bath Abbey, selling high quality artisan products, gifts and delicious food.
Day 3 SATURDAY Leaving our hotel after breakfast, we travel to Winchester, where there will be free time to explore this excellent Christmas Market and to get some lunch. We return to the local area late afternoon.
