Visit York, Harrogate, RHS Harlow Carr, The World of James Herriot in Thirsk, and enjoy the fabulous activities and entertainment that Warner do so well.
Day 1 We travel north stopping in Stamford en route. We arrive at our hotel near Harrogate late afternoon.
Day 2 We spend the morning at RHS Harlow Carr, gorgeously designed to fit in with the Yorkshire landscape. In the afternoon you could visit Harrogate, famous for its spa, fine architecture, excellent shopping and Betty’s Tearooms or return to enjoy the leisure facilities at Nidd Hall.
Day 3 A day out in the ancient city of York, beginning with a walking and driven tour. The afternoon is free to explore the tangle of quaint cobbled streets and the beauty of York Minster. You could also visit the Castle Museum, the National Railway Museum or just enjoy the shopping!
Day 4 Today we spend the morning in the 1940s at the home of James Herriot in Thirsk. Step through the famous red door of 23 Kirkgate into the fully-restored site of his original 1940s home and veterinary practice (known in his books as Skeldale House, Darrowby) set in the heart of stunning Herriot Country. Your afternoon is free at Nidd Hall.
Day 5 Departing after breakfast, we head home via Lincolnshire and the Dartford Crossing making refreshment stops en route. We arrive home early evening.
