Join us for a relaxing spring break to Herefordshire and enjoy Warner’s wide range of activities and entertainment at their Holme Lacy retreat. We have included three excursions to Hereford, Ludlow and the Wye Valley, including a scenic river cruise. Please note: Warner properties are usually spread over a large area, so some walking may be required between bedroom and restaurant / leisure facilities. Number of single rooms at the published supplement are very limited.
Day 1 MONDAY We travel west and cross the magnificent Severn Bridge into Wales, where we continue up the Wye Valley to our Warner hotel near Hereford.
Day 2 TUESDAY This morning is spent in the historic walled city of Hereford, where you can stroll through the streets, shop or visit the cathedral. The afternoon is free in Hereford or at Holme Lacy, where you can take part in the many activities available.
Day 3 WEDNESDAY Our morning excursion is to Ludlow, a thriving medieval market town, with plenty of pleasant shops and cafés. Our afternoon is free at Holme Lacy.
Day 4 THURSDAY Spend the morning in Ross-on-Wye with its impressive 17th century market hall and Tudor timbered houses, with the opportunity to obtain lunch. We transfer to Symonds Yat, where we join our cruise on the River Wye and learn about the surrounding countryside from the knowledgeable boat master whilst taking in the views.
Day 5 FRIDAY Departing after breakfast, we travel back with a stop in Cheltenham for lunch and arrive in the local area during the late afternoon.
Set in the idyllic Wye Valley, our four-star standard hotel is a magnificent Grade I listed mansion, is mainly 18th-century and has ornate ceilings, a majestic sweeping staircase and a stately drawing room. The grounds hold beautiful gardens, an orchard, wooded parklands and a fishing lake. There are abundant leisure facilities including swimming pool, sauna, steam room, gym, tennis and croquet. In addition, there is live nightly entertainment. Our rooms are equipped with TV, telephone, hairdryer, ironing facilities and hospitality tray. The hotel has Wi-Fi and a lift, but some walking is necessary.
