Join us on a visit to The Thursford Spectacular, a world-renowned Christmas variety show held annually in an otherwise sleepy village in Norfolk. Known for its extravagant performances, it combines stunning music, dance, and theatre with a magical festive atmosphere. Featuring a huge cast of talented singers, dancers, and musicians – many from West End stages - this fast-moving three-hour celebration of the season artfully combines famous chart-toppers performed with more traditional carols and year-round favourites. The Spectacular has become a highlight of the holiday season, offering audiences a memorable experience with its blend of traditional Christmas themes and dazzling entertainment, drawing visitors from all over the world. Woods are proud to host four Thursford holidays this year, each lasting four days and featuring a different hotel and itinerary.
Day 1 We travel to our hotel near Norwich via the charming town of Colchester.
Day 2 Thursford Spectacular! After a relaxed breakfast we travel to Thursford. We arrive with time to get lunch and visit the shops before the afternoon performance.
Day 3 After breakfast we head out for a ride on one of the majestic heritage engines of the Bure Valley railway. We then have free time in Norwich for the afternoon.
Day 4 We return home with a stop in Bury St Edmunds before returning to the local area and our taxis home.
Our hotel is situated in 350 acres of the beautiful Wensum Valley, near Norwich. The hotel boasts the comfortable Valley restaurant, bar and lounge, WiFi, an indoor swimming pool, sauna, spa bath, steam room and gym. All bedrooms have TV, telephone, hairdryer and hospitality tray. There is no lift, but plenty of ground floor rooms. Rooms are accessed by a covered walkway (not enclosed). This tour includes a journey on the Bure Valley Railway.
