Lancashire’s outstanding natural landscape is matched by its rich history, culture and warm welcome. Highlights include Elizabethan style Browsholme Hall & Gardens in the stunning Forest of Bowland.
Day 1 MONDAY A morning departure to meet your tour coach, and then we travel north to Lancashire with suitable refreshment stops along the way.
Day 2 TUESDAY We begin our day with a cruise along the Lancaster Canal. This scenic cruise features attractive countryside scenery and views of the Bowland Hills. Upon returning to Barton Grange, we have time to explore this award-winning garden centre. We then make our way back to the hotel early afternoon where we can enjoy a cream tea.
Day 3 WEDNESDAY After a leisurely breakfast, we make our way to Browsholme Hall & Gardens in the Forest of Bowland. We enjoy a guided tour of the fabulous interiors of this charming Elizabethan house before having time to stroll through the beautiful, landscaped garden. In the afternoon we make our way to the Bowland Brewery for a Tutored Tasting, which includes a tour of the brewery followed by tasting in the Chimney Room of three Bowland Ales.
Day 4 THURSDAY We begin our day with a guided tour of Samlesbury Hall a fabulous half-timbered black and white medieval house, built in 1325. We then make our way to Oswaldtwistle Mills shopping village, the award-winning former weaving mill has over 100 retailers under one roof. This evening, enjoy live musical entertainment after dinner.
Day 5 FRIDAY Leaving our hotel after breakfast, we make our way southwards, arriving in the local area late afternoon.
Our three-star hotel is located in the heart of the beautiful Ribble Valley. The hotel features an award-winning restaurant and a leisure club with gym, swimming pool, sauna and steam room. Bedrooms have TV, Wi-Fi, hairdryer and tea/coffee making facilities. The hotel does not have a lift, but some ground floor rooms are available.
