Itinerary

Day 1-11 A fabulously crafted cruise that will showcase Scotland’s picturesque lochs, fabled isles and dramatic coastlines. At sea, MS Borealis will take you past awe-inspiring sights like Bac Mòr, whilst ashore, you can explore iconic spots such as Loch Ness and Kilt Rock. A rich tapestry of traditions awaits, with opportunities to enjoy Gaelic music, sample whisky and observe local crofting methods. Meanwhile, nature lovers can seek out cetaceans, seals and otters in the waters surrounding the isles or visit the birdlife haven of Sumburgh Head. Throughout your journey, you can uncover fascinating legends, from Nessie and the Callanish Standing Stones to the Fairy Pools of Skye and Finn McCool’s links to Fingal’s Cave.

MS Borealis

Sister ship of their flagship Bolette, Borealis joined Fred Olsen in 2020, and is perfectly suited for enjoying scenic cruising of the world's lesser-known waterways. From cruising past remarkable landscapes and historical sites to capturing the beauty of the natural world. Redecorated and refurbished when she joined their fleet in order to meet the high standards of the Olsen family, Borealis features a wonderful series of lounges, bars, elegant restaurants and wide-open deck spaces, as well as 702 beautiful cabins and suites; perfectly suited to the Fred. Olsen style of cruising. From January 2026, Borealis will be exclusively for adults, so you can relax in the company of other like-minded guests. Enjoy one of their Signatures Experiences of Scenic Discoveries from the perfectly-appointed Observatory, where guests will be able to see outstanding natural scenery and iconic landmarks, accompanied by commentary from our on board teams; or sample delicious Treats of the Region in the Auditorium where their talented chefs will prepare dishes that are local to the exciting destinations you're visiting. Their friendly crew will be on hand throughout your cruise, providing the personal service they're known for.
