Itinerary

Day 1 FRIDAY We head north towards Lichfield, where we enjoy a Guided Tour of Lichfield Cathedral. Its three spires are unique amongst medieval cathedrals and it has a rich and fascinating history that covers1300 years. Later, we continue to our hotel for our 3-night stay.

Day 2 SATURDAY A tour through the beautiful countryside of the Peak District National Park. We visit Chatsworth House – the magnificent home of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire - a treasure trove of masterpieces in art. The rooms and halls are truly breathtaking as are the glorious, landscaped gardens. We continue over the high Peaks to Castleton then on to Ladybower Reservoir, famous for its connection as the training ground for the legendary ‘Dambusters,’ returning via Hathersage.

Day 3 SUNDAY Today we head to the Crich Tramway Museum. Ride the trams, enjoy the period village scene including pub and shops and indoor exhibitions. We end our day at Denby Pottery Village. Located next to the working Denby Pottery, the factory shop has the largest selection of Denby in the world with huge savings alongside award-winning Home, Garden, Cookery, Gift and Farm shops.

Day 4 MONDAY Departing after breakfast, we visit the National Memorial Arboretum – a special place that remembers those who have served, and continue to serve, our nation in many different ways. Set in 150 acres of grounds, the Arboretum was conceived as a living tribute to the war time generations of the twentieth century and as a gift to their memory for future generations to reflect upon and enjoy. In the afternoon we make our way homewards.
