Discover the beauty of the North Norfolk Heritage Coast at Sheringham and Cromer, visit the hidden gem that is Felbrigg Hall, steam through the countryside and explore the steam museum at Thursford.
Day 1 We join our coach and drive north to the cathedral town of Ely where we stop for refreshments. We continue to our hotel near Norwich arriving late afternoon.
Day 2 We travel up to the North Norfolk Heritage Coast visiting Sheringham before boarding the Poppy Line for a heritage steam train ride with stunning views of the countryside down to Holt. We have free time for lunch in this Georgian market town. Our last visit of the day is to Thursford, to see the world’s largest collection of steam engines and organs.
Day 3 Today we return to the coast, to Cromer, famous for its pier and tasty seafood. In the afternoon we visit Felbrigg Hall, an elegant country house set in extensive gardens with a picturesque lake and woodlands. The Hall contains a lot of its original collection and over 400 years of family history.
Day 4 This morning we have a guided tour of Norwich, and the afternoon is free for your own exploration, or you could return to our hotel to enjoy the leisure facilities.
Day 5 Departing after breakfast, we travel via Lavenham, with its many half-timbered buildings dating from the 15th Century. We arrive in the local area late afternoon.
Our hotel is situated in 350 acres of the beautiful Wensum Valley, near Norwich. The hotel boasts comfortable restaurants, bar and lounge, indoor swimming pool, sauna, spa bath, steam room and gym. All bedrooms have TV, telephone, WiFi, hairdryer, and hospitality tray. There is no lift, but plenty of ground floor rooms. Rooms are accessed by a covered walkway (not enclosed).
