Day 1 TUESDAY We journey to the West Country, arriving at our hotel in the afternoon for our four night stay.
Day 2 WEDNESDAY After breakfast we travel through the Exmoor National Park. A beautiful landscape of moorland, woodland, coast, and rivers to the harbour village of Lynmouth, which is linked to Lynton by the funicular Cliff Railway, the highest and the steepest totally water powered railway in the world! We return to our hotel for dinner followed by a fun ‘Night at the Races’ hosted by the hotel management & staff.
Day 3 THURSDAY NEW YEAR’S EVE Our day begins with a visit to the charming village of Appledore, located at the mouth of the River Torridge with its winding narrow streets, colourful houses and rich maritime history. Return to our hotel to prepare for tonight’s Gala Dinner and New Year’s Eve party. Enjoy a cocktail reception followed by an indulgent three-course dinner with canapés and all the trimmings. After dinner it’s time to get your dancing shoes on to see in the New Year. On the stroke of midnight, celebrate by watching the fireworks just across from the hotel over the River Taw, with complimentary soup or hot chocolate provided to keep you warm then come back and continue dancing until the wee small hours.
Day 4 FRIDAY NEW YEAR’S DAY Happy New Year! Enjoy a leisurely breakfast and relax at the hotel or join us on a short excursion to Ilfracombe to ‘blow away the cobwebs.’ After dinner ‘2026, The Year That Was’ quiz hosted by the management & staff to round off your stay.
Day 5 SATURDAY We depart after breakfast for the journey home, arriving back into our area mid-afternoon.
