We bring in the New Year on the summit of the Isle of Portland, with spectacular panoramic sea and coastal views. Our hotel promises excellent evenings of dancing and entertainment and during our tour we visit Bournemouth, Weymouth, Dorchester and have a visit to the panto on New Year’s Day.
Day 1 WEDNESDAY We set off this morning travelling through the New Forest to Bournemouth, where there will be time to have some lunch. We continue to our hotel where we are greeted with tea and cake in the View Café overlooking the coastal views. Dinner is taken in the Bistro followed by music and a “Dessert Cocktail” in the bar.
Day 2 THURSDAY NEW YEAR’S EVE We take a short late morning drive to the Portland Bill Lighthouse Visitors Centre. Located in the former lighthouse keepers’ dwellings the centre contains exhibitions and interactive displays and maritime artifacts. (Please note we have not included the entrance to the Lighthouse as the ascent to the top is via 155 steps). We return to the hotel in good time to relax and get ready for this evening’s festivities which begin with a Bucks Fizz, before a fourcourse Gala Dinner in The Portland Suite followed by music and dancing to bring in the New Year!
Day 3 FRIDAY NEW YEAR’S DAY Happy New Year! We begin 2027 with a late morning drive into Weymouth, with its pretty harbour, many cafés and shopping opportunities. In the afternoon we have tickets to see the Christmas pantomime ‘Cinderella’ at the Weymouth Pavilion. Dinner tonight has a Dorset theme, followed by a quiz, comedy, magic and prize bingo.
Day 4 SATURDAY After another lovely Dorset Breakfast, we travel to Dorchester for some free time among the alleys and precincts that make up the centre. We then continue back to the local area to meet our taxis.
The three-star Heights Hotel is set in the heart of the World Heritage Coastline on the Isle of Portland, with stunning views over Chesil Beach, Weymouth, Lyme Bay and Portland Harbour. The hotel has WiFi and all bedrooms have TV, hairdryer and hospitality tray. There is a lift.
