From cliffs coated with wildflowers to the beautiful beaches that fringe its shores, Jersey is a truly picturesque destination. Relax and enjoy the famed hospitality of its people and lose yourself in the Island’s winding lanes or on its breathtaking coast.
Day 1 Sunday We transfer to Southampton Airport for our flight with Blue Island Airways to Jersey. Upon arrival, we are transferred to the Monterey Hotel, where we stay for 6 nights.
Day 2 Monday There is time to relax and enjoy the morning in St Helier before our afternoon excursion to the magnificent Jersey War Tunnels, where we discover the true story of the Occupation of Jersey during the dark days of World War II.
Day 3 Tuesday Today we enjoy a full day tour of Jersey with a knowledgeable local driver. Relax and enjoy the scenery as we visit many wonderful sights such as St Brelade’s Bay, Corbière Lighthouse, Greve de Lecq, Bonne Nuit Bay and Gorey Harbour. Learn about some of the island’s famous guests, marvel at the beautiful scenery.
Day 4 Wednesday A free day to relax and explore St Helier, which is home to several museums, including a gallery showing the Occupation Tapestry. You might like to walk along the sandy beach or visit Elizabeth Castle; the fortress located just off the coast which has defended the island for over 400 years. Alternatively, pick up some bargains in the many high street and independent shops in the town – VAT free. (Entrances not included.)
Day 5 Thursday This morning we visit La Mare Vineyards, tucked away in a quiet corner of the parish of St Mary in the north of the island. Established in 1972 this is the only working vineyard on the island and we have an included tour and a tasting. The estate creates an extensive range of preserves, handcrafted confectionary and an iconic selection of wines, ales, ciders, liqueurs and spirits. The afternoon is free.
Day 6 Friday A free day to explore the island. Your tour escort will be able to advise on visiting the Hamptonne Country Life Museum, Samares Manor, Jersey Zoo or one of the many beautiful bays visited on your earlier tour of the island. You might also like to visit one of the other beautiful Channel Islands. (Entrances/costs not included.)
Day 7 Saturday We transfer to Jersey Airport for the flight to Southampton, and our onward journey home.
Located a short stroll through the Millennium Town Park from the centre of St Helier, the Monterey Hotel has a pleasant bar, restaurant, lounge and sun terrace. Leisure facilities include outdoor and indoor swimming pools, spa pool, steam room and mini-gym. Bedrooms have TV, telephone, Wi-Fi, hairdryer and hospitality tray. Superior rooms are available at extra cost. The hotel has a lift.
