Itinerary

Day 1 MONDAY We travel down to Portsmouth for the sailing to Fishbourne. Once on the island we have a scenic drive to Sandown and our hotel.

Day 2 TUESDAY Departing from Cowes Parade, we enjoy a 35-minute scenic harbour cruise with Solent Cruises. With a full live commentary, we sail around the yachting capital of the UK. Next, we call at the coastal resort of Yarmouth before visiting The Needles Landmark Attraction, one of the Isle of Wight’s most iconic sights with chalk stacks leading out to sea and the lighthouse.

Day 3 WEDNESDAY We visit Whippingham Church, with its connections to Queen Victoria followed by Osborne House, her seaside residence. Marvel at the sumptuous décor of the Royal Apartments and take an intimate glimpse into the private life of the Victorian Royal Family.

Day 4 THURSDAY Today we travel back in time as we take a scenic ride on the Isle of Wight Steam Railway. The locomotives and carriages have been lovingly restored to pristine condition and the station houses a shop, café and museum. On our return you can choose to stop in Shanklin for a stroll among the quaint cottages. Our driver will return to transfer people back to our hotel later in the afternoon.

Day 5 FRIDAY A free day for your own exploration of the island or relax in your hotel and enjoy the sea views.

Day 6 SATURDAY We drive to the picture-postcard setting of Godshill, where we include entrance to the marvellous Model Village - a 1/10 scale model of Godshill and Shanklin Old Town that nestles in the grounds of the Old Vicarage. Set in nearly two acres of gorgeous, landscaped gardens this is truly a quintessentially English visitor attraction. On our return we call at the Isle of Wight Donkey Sanctuary where we can discover how the sanctuary helps rescue and rehabilitate donkeys.

Day 7 SUNDAY Leaving our hotel after breakfast, we travel up to Fishbourne for our ferry to Portsmouth, with a refreshment stop on the way, time permitting. We then continue along the south coast and home.
