Visit the home of the Boleyn family, enjoy a heritage train and Broads cruise, and discover some beautiful resorts in Norfolk & Suffolk.
Day 1 We travel north-east to Bury St Edmunds where we stop for refreshments, before continuing to our hotel in Great Yarmouth.
Day 2 We travel north today to the historic Georgian town of Holt, with time to stroll around and get some refreshments. We then visit Blickling Hall, a magnificent Jacobean mansion, famed for its Long Gallery, fine tapestries, paintings and rare books. The estate was once home to the Boleyn family.
Day 3 We visit Norwich where you have free time to explore, visit the cathedral, cobbled Elm Hill or Norwich Castle Museum.
Day 4 A free day to relax and enjoy Great Yarmouth. Alternatively, join your driver on a half day excursion into Suffolk to the delightful resort of Southwold.
Day 5 We travel to Aylsham to join the Bure Valley Railway for the 9-mile trip to Wroxham. After a little free time we board the Southern Comfort, a Mississippi paddle boat for a 1½-hour cruise on the Broads.
Day 6 Leaving after breakfast, we have a lunch stop in Saffron Walden, before continuing homeward. We arrive in the local area late afternoon.
The family owned and run Palm Court Hotel stands in a quiet location on Great Yarmouth seafront overlooking the sea. Hotel facilities include heated indoor swimming pool and two bars. The bedrooms have TV, telephone, hairdryer and tea/coffee making facilities. The hotel has WiFi and a lift to most rooms.
