Day 1 FRIDAY We journey north, with refreshment stops en-route, arriving at our hotel in time for dinner and our 3-night stay.
Day 2 SATURDAY This morning we visit the ancient market town of Skipton where you can explore the bustling market, browse the independent shops including a good selection of food and drink venues. We also include a one-hour canal boat trip with stunning countryside views and complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits.
Day 3 SUNDAY After a leisurely breakfast we make our way to magnificent Samlesbury Hall, a half-timbered medieval house built in 1325. We have a special guided tour of the house** from the parlour to the Great Hall discovering many of the Hall’s hidden secrets. We include a Soup and sandwich platter lunch with tea & coffee. Return to the Hotel and get ready for a Christmas Party Night of singing and dancing. The Mike James Orchestra is a vibrant, fully professional big band consisting of a powerful signature brass section, whip tight rhythm and talented soloists and vocalists all led by the earthy charm and boyish enthusiasm of Mike James himself, one of Britain’s best and most enduring band leaders. Enjoy all your favourite Christmas tunes, both old and new, from Bing Crosby’s “White Christmas” to Slade’s “Merry Christmas everybody” as we party the night away.
Day 4 MONDAY We travel south stopping in Stratford-upon-Avon for lunch and sightseeing. We reach the local area early evening.
Our four-star hotel mixes the grandeur of the 700-year-old building with modern facilities and is set in 17 acres of Lancashire parkland outside Blackburn. The hotel has an indoor swimming pool, gym and spa, and bedrooms have TV, telephone, Wi-Fi, ironing facilities, hairdryer and hospitality tray. The hotel has a lift to some rooms.
