Coach Days Out This New Year!

Fun days out by coach in January and February 2019

Once the Christmas decorations have been packed away, nothing picks you up better than looking forward to an exciting excursion. Book an outing by coach early in the new year and chase the winter blues away. Why not visit a new attraction, see a theatre show or explore a different town in January or February 2019 with Woods Travel? Choose one of the great coach day trips on offer and enjoy a little time out with all the details taken care of.

Early in the new year, on the 16th January, there’s an interesting trip to visit the National Gallery and the National Portrait Gallery in London. Located in the magnificent Trafalgar Square, these historic buildings are as spectacular as the works of art inside. View masterpieces by Monet, Vermeer, Bellini and Rembrandt amongst the 2,300 paintings that are on display at the National Gallery. A short stop for refreshments along the way is included.

How about taking a trip to Southampton a week later, on the 24th? Learn all about the Titanic and its devastating links to the people of Southampton. Included is a visit to Sea City Museum in Southampton, where there is a large model of the Titanic on display, and a chance to hear about some of the local households that were affected by the ship’s tragedy.

For lovers of Strictly Come Dancing, booking a trip to see the live tour 2019 is not to be missed. On the 9th and 10th of February, we’ll be dancing in our seats on our way to see this incredible event. The new show is being directed by the talented Craig Revel Horwood once again, and all of the favourite cast members will be making an appearance. Expect sequins, glamour, ballroom dances and Latin moves all evening long. Book your seat on this fabulous trip to this live performance at the O2 Arena.

Why not start the new year off with a visit to Newbury on 20th February. This small Berkshire town has interesting 17th-century buildings, a famous racecourse and a high street of independent boutiques that are just irresistible. Enjoy a bit of retail therapy in Newbury and discover this lovely market town just an hour from London. A stop at Haskins Garden Centre for refreshments is part of the itinerary as well.

Alternatively, come with us on the 21st February to watch Matthew Bourne’s Swan Lake, a must-see for fans of ballet, and followers of this exciting choreographer. This classical ballet production has been re-worked with Bourne’s own unique touches, most famously being that the ‘swans’ are performed by male dancers. This excursion by coach takes you to Southampton and the Mayflower Theatre for a matinee performance, with an option to have a lunch included as well.

For the perfect February day out, on the 22nd, take a visit to the Crocodiles of the World in Brize Norton. The reptile houses are warm even if the weather outside is chilly, and there’s a chance to see 15 different species of crocodile, including the infamous saltwater croc. This is the only crocodile zoo in the UK and if you want to learn more, they have feeding demonstrations and daily talks as part of their timetable. Owls, otters and meerkats can also be seen at this attraction, so there’s something for everyone.

Take a tour of The Royal Mews with us on the 26th February, travelling proudly with one of the best coach companies offering visits to Buckingham Palace. The highlight of the visit is seeing the glittering state coaches that are used for special royal occasions. A delicious carvery lunch at the Strand Palace Hotel is part of the trip too. This is just the perfect day out to look forward to at the end of February.
