Food & Drink | Breakfast around Europe

It’s the most important meal of the day, providing you with that all-important energy, preparing you for any adventures that may come your way!

With so many varieties, flavours and traditions, enjoying a morning meal in a different country or culture can be an experience in itself – here’s just a few of the delicious European options you should definitely  sample whilst on your travels:

France
If you’re waking up in Paris, you will more than likely start your day with slices of fresh French bread served with jam and/or butter. If you fancy something special, why not pick up a freshly-baked croissant from a local bakery, washed down deliciously with a big, hot mug of coffee or hot chocolate. Très bien!

If you like a big breakfast, then traditional Polish treat may be just what you need to get your day started right. Consisting of bread rolls served with an assortment of toppings including meat, sausage, cheese, butter, jam and chocolate spread, it could certainly give the Full English a run for it’s money!

What’s the most important ingredient for your morning meal? Soft cheese of course! Tvorozhniki, aka Syrniki, is a very typical Russian/Ukrainian dish and the perfect quick and easy breakfast meal. These fried quark pancakes are garnished with sour cream, jam, honey or apple sauce – tummy rumbling yet?
