Itinerary

Day 1 Travel north into Cheshire, arriving at our hotel late afternoon on ‘Christmas Eve’. Enjoy welcome mince pies and look forward to tonight’s wonderful dinner which will be followed by festive entertainment.

Day 2 ‘Merry Christmas!’ After breakfast, head to the vibrant city of Chester. Browse the half-timbered galleried shops in The Rows, walk the red sandstone city walls, visit the cathedral or relax in one of the many teashops. Return to the hotel early afternoon to enjoy the facilities before our Christmas dinner with all the trimmings! Later there will be live entertainment.

Day 3 A morning excursion to Jodrell Bank, where you can visit the First Light Pavilion, unearth inspirational stories of pioneering scientists, explore the depths of space in an immersive planetarium experience, and visit the temporary exhibitions. Spend the afternoon in the medieval market town of Nantwich, or at our hotel, before dinner and more festive fun.

Day 4 This morning explore Erddig, a National Trust property sitting on a dramatic escarpment above the winding Clywedog river in North Wales. This much-loved home is filled with over 250-years’ worth of stories of a family and their servants including carefully preserved rooms and portraits which capture their lives in the early 20th century. The afternoon is free at Alvaston Hall with time to get ready for our New Year celebrations featuring plenty of music and dancing.

Day 5 Leaving our hotel after breakfast, we have a stop at the National Memorial Arboretum before continuing our journey home.
