Itinerary

Day 1 We travel north towards Cheshire, making suitable refreshment stops along the way, arriving at our hotel late afternoon.

Day 2 This morning we have a short stop in Bakewell for some free time to browse the weekly market, before continuing to Chatsworth House, home to the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire. Look around all the beautifully decorated ground floor rooms, adorned with elaborate festive displays and breathtaking Christmas trees. You can also purchase refreshments at the café, visit the shop and explore the small Christmas Market.

Day 3 Enjoy a leisurely breakfast and some free time at our delightful hotel before departing for the elegant spa town of Buxton. Here, you may wish to check out the weekly market which is on today, browse the many independent shops in the high street, stroll through the Pavilion Gardens, and have lunch in one of the many eateries.

Day 4 Today, head to the magnificent Haddon Hall for the fantastic Mercatum Artisan Christmas Market hosted in and around the hall and gardens. Browse the many stalls selling an array of Christmas gifts and decorations, whilst taking in the history and beauty of the hall which will be dressed in all its festive glory. There is also a range of street food traders serving wonderful seasonal food and beverages.

Day 5 Departing after breakfast, we journey south with a stop at the National Memorial Arboretum before continuing our journey home.

Shrigley Hall Hotel

The 19th-century Shrigley Hall Hotel is situated on the edge of the Peak District National Park. The hotel stands in its own 262-acre estate overlooking the Cheshire Plain. All rooms are elegantly furnished and are equipped with TV, telephone, WiFi, ironing facilities, hairdryer and hospitality tray. There is a charge for the use of the swimming pool and spa. The hotel has a lift, but there are some steps throughout.
