Alvaston Hall

Warner’s Cheshire

Alvaston Hall became a social hub for the wealthy people of Nantwich when it was built in 1896. More than 120 years later, it is still immensely popular for the huge variety of activities and entertainment offered in its ‘just for adults’ hotel. We also include visits to Chester, Buxton and the remarkable centre at Jodrell Bank, home to the iconic Lovell Telescope, the UK's largest radio telescope.

Itinerary

Day 1 MONDAY We make our way north into Cheshire, making suitable stops along the way and arriving at our hotel late afternoon.

Day 2 TUESDAY A morning visit to Chester. Visit the half-timbered galleried shops in The Rows, walk the red sandstone city walls, visit the cathedral, or just relax in one of the many teashops. We return to our hotel early afternoon to take part in the many activities or enjoy the facilities on offer.

Day 3 WEDNESDAY A morning excursion to Jodrell Bank, where you can visit the First Light Pavilion, unearth inspirational stories of pioneering scientists, explore the depths of space in an immersive planetarium experience, and visit the temporary exhibitions. Spend the afternoon in the medieval market town of Nantwich, or at our hotel.

Day 4 THURSDAY After breakfast, we embark on a scenic tour through the Peak District National Park. You can sit back and relax in your coach seat as we journey past breathtaking scenery, stopping for some time at leisure in the lovely picture-postcard town of Buxton.

Day 5 FRIDAY Leaving our hotel after breakfast, we have a stop at the National Memorial Arboretum before continuing our journey home.
