A wonderful way to start the year with a tour of some of the finest snowdrop collections in the country. Visit Batsford, Welford and Colesbourne Park, which has a remarkable collection in a private garden.
Day 1 We make our way to Welford Park in Berkshire, where a magnificent snowdrop display awaits us. Light snacks are available in the Old Laundry Tearoom, before we continue to our hotel, where we are welcomed with warm cookies.
Day 2 Today we visit Cirencester and then make our way to Colesbourne Park, to see one of the finest displays of snowdrops in the country. Over 350 species are now spread throughout this private garden, as well as hellebores, cyclamen and other winter flowering shrubs.
Day 3 After breakfast we make our way via Chipping Norton to Batsford Arboretum, home to one of the finest botanical collections in the country. Batsford is also home to a beautiful visitor centre, gift shop and café. We return to our hotel via some pretty Cotswold villages.
Day 4 Departing our hotel, we travel the short distance into Swindon and STEAM, the Museum of the Great Western Railway. The museum is housed in a beautifully restored Grade II listed railway building in the heart of the former Swindon railway works, located right next to Swindon's Designer Outlet. We have an included light lunch before travelling back to the local area and home.
Our four-star hotel is situated 3 miles from Swindon and features a pleasant restaurant, bar, lounge and a well-equipped gym. Bedrooms have TV, telephone, WiFi, ironing facilities, hairdryer and tea/coffee making facilities. The hotel has a lift.
