Step into the unspoilt heart of England this Christmas with a coach holiday to Shropshire, a county brimming with rolling hills, historic market towns, and a rich industrial heritage.
Day 1 WEDNESDAY We travel north to Shropshire making suitable refreshment stops along the way. We arrive at the Telford Hotel & Spa for tea/coffee and mince pies. Tonight’s dinner is followed by Bingo.
Day 2 THURSDAY CHRISTMAS EVE We head to Ironbridge, birthplace of the Industrial Revolution and site of the world’s first iron bridge. We explore the valley and of course have the opportunity to cross the bridge itself. Our day continues with a visit to the charming town of Bridgnorth, effectively two towns, situated one above the other and connected by the country’s oldest and steepest cliff railway. Returning to our hotel, tonight, Close Hand Magicians will entertain you at the tables during dinner.
Day 3 FRIDAY CHRISTMAS DAY Happy Christmas! This morning a hearty breakfast with Bucks Fizz will be served. Christmas Lunch is accompanied by musical entertainment. The afternoon is your own with the King’s Speech being shown at 3.00pm with tea, coffee and Christmas cake served. Evening ‘Grazing’ Menu is followed by a Christmas Quiz.
Day 4 SATURDAY BOXING DAY A leisurely breakfast is followed by an early soup/sandwich lunch before we take the short drive to Wolverhampton, where we take our seats for the matinée pantomime performance of ‘Treasure Island’ at the Grand Theatre. Tonight’s dinner is followed by a cabaret singer to round off our stay.
Day 5 SUNDAY Leaving our hotel after breakfast, we travel east with suitable refreshment stops, reaching the local area late afternoon.
