Itinerary

Day 1 MONDAY A taxi picks you up from home to take you to your tour coach, which then heads north towards Cheshire, making suitable refreshment stops along the way.

Day 2 TUESDAY After breakfast we visit the beautiful spa town of Buxton, where attractions include the historical pump room and the Pavilion Gardens. We continue via the picturesque village of Eyam before reaching the ‘High Peaks’ at Castleton. Our scenic drive continues as we view Ladybower Reservoir, famous for its connection as the ‘training ground’ for the legendary ‘Dambusters,’ returning over ‘Snake Pass.’

Day 3 WEDNESDAY Today, we visit the Emma Bridgewater Factory in Stoke-on-Trent. Join us on a fascinating behind-the-scenes factory tour and uncover how their handmade pottery is created using heritage skills and decorated with signature sponge decorating techniques. Try your hand at decorating a piece of your very own unique pottery or discover the beautiful gift shop and the popular seconds outlet where items are sold at heavily discounted prices.

Day 4 THURSDAY Today we head to the Crich Tramway Museum. Ride the trams, enjoy the period village scene including pub and shops and indoor exhibitions. We return via Matlock to the historic town of Bakewell, famous for its Puddings. Legend has it that the town's famous Bakewell Pudding was created by mistake by a local cook in the mid-19th century. Today her delectable 'jam tart that went wrong' can be sampled at various bakeries and cafés and posted virtually anywhere in the world!

Day 5 FRIDAY We travel south stopping in Stratford-upon-Avon for lunch and sightseeing. We reach the local area early evening.
