The remarkable quality of the light in Cornwall has made it a magnet for artists from around the world. See some wonderful works of art and the glorious scenery and light which were their inspiration.
Day 1 We travel west, making suitable refreshment stops along the way and reaching our hotel late afternoon.
Day 2 We travel up to the North Cornish Coast and visit St Ives, one of Cornwall’s best loved resorts with cobbled streets, historic harbour and glorious light. Enjoy some free time as well as visits to the Barbara Hepworth Museum & Sculpture Garden and the excellent Tate Gallery St Ives.
Day 3 This morning we visit Truro, with its impressive cathedral and delightful shops. We return to Falmouth for a 2-hour pleasure cruise through the rugged landscape and the scenic waters of the Helford River & Frenchmans Creek.* This evening enjoy a short talk about Cornish Art.
Day 4 A free day to explore Falmouth. You might like to visit the award-winning Falmouth Art Gallery (free entrance).
Day 5 Travel across the Fal Estuary by ferry to St Mawes for free time to explore the picturesque harbour. Then meet our coach for the drive up the Roseland Peninsula to Trelissick Garden, which boasts a huge array of plant species and stunning views.
Day 6 We return home via Dorchester, stopping en route for refreshments.
