Step into a gentler pace of life as we discover the beautiful beaches, secluded coves, stunning wildlife and breathtaking scenery associated with West Wales. This tour is based at the luxurious 3-star Cliff Hotel overlooking Cardigan Bay, set within 30 acres of beautiful grounds.
Day 1 MONDAY We head towards South Wales, pausing for a suitable stop for lunch en-route, arriving at our hotel for our four-night stay.
Day 2 TUESDAY This morning we drive to St Davids, the smallest city in Britain named after the patron saint of Wales and dominated by its 12th century cathedral. Enjoy a guided tour of the Cathedral before we make our way to Picton Castle – a cross between a medieval castle and fortified manor house. Described as Pembroke’s most impressive historic house it is set in 40-acres of glorious woodland gardens.
Day 3 WEDNESDAY Today we visit the small seaside resort of Saundersfoot before continuing to Tenby. Regarded as one of the prettiest resorts in Wales, Tenby is renowned for its lovely golden beaches and picturesque harbour.
Day 4 THURSDAY This morning we discover the spellbinding story of the Welsh woollen industry at Wales’ National Wool Museum, in the beautiful Teifi Valley, once the centre of a thriving wool industry. Our day continues with a visit to the ancient market town of Cardigan. Set on the River Teifi Estuary, the main landmarks of the town are Cardigan Castle with its Georgian mansion, medieval walls and 19th-century Guildhall.
Day 5 FRIDAY A leisurely drive homeward.
