Enjoy a relaxing early summer break in Torquay’s highest rated three-star hotel and visit the beautiful Devon home of Agatha Christie. Please note: Once you arrive at Greenway Quay, there is a steep uphill walk through the woodland garden to reach Greenway, which takes between 10-15 minutes. There are some steps leading to the unsurfaced woodland path, but plenty of benches at which to pause and admire the views. There may be buggy transport available, but it is not guaranteed.
Day 1 We travel west by coach, making suitable refreshment stops along the way and arriving at our hotel in Torquay to relax before dinner.
Day 2 We are joined by a local Blue Badge Guide today for a tour which travels along the coast through Teignmouth, Dawlish and Exmouth, then back through Kingsteignton and Newton Abbott. We return to Torquay mid-afternoon, for free time in the town.
Day 3 We begin with a visit to Dartmouth, with a short time to explore before we board the Greenway Ferry for a 30-minute journey along the River Dart to Agatha Christie’s house of Greenway. Time has stopped in the 1950s for this beautiful family holiday home, crammed with Agatha’s family’s collections and surrounded by pretty woodland gardens. You have time for lunch and to explore before we meet our mid-afternoon ferry to return us to Dartmouth and our coach. We return to our hotel in time for dinner.
Day 4 We depart after breakfast and have a stop in Winchester for shopping and a chance to get some lunch. We reach the local area mid-afternoon
