Originally built as an archbishop’s palace, Knole has passed through royalty to the Sackville family, who still live here today. Inside art lovers will find Reynolds, Gainsborough and Van Dyck as well as seventeenth century tapestries and furniture. Ightham Mote was built nearly 700 years ago, this house has been owned by Medieval knights, courtiers to Henry VIII and high society Victorians. The house is surrounded by peaceful gardens with an orchard, water features, lakes and woodland walks.
