Our Joint Managing Director, Tina, recently had the opportunity to visit the Irizar factory in the beautiful Basque Country of Northern Spain, home to one of Europe’s leading coach manufacturers.

The visit provided a fascinating insight into the design, engineering and craftsmanship that go into creating the coaches that transport millions of passengers across Europe each year. From an informative presentation and showroom tour to a comprehensive behind-the-scenes look at the production facilities, it was a chance to see first-hand how Irizar’s renowned vehicles are brought to life.

As a significant proportion of the Woods Travel fleet is made up of Irizar coaches, the visit was particularly relevant. Seeing the manufacturing process up close offered a greater appreciation of the innovation, precision and attention to detail that help ensure our customers enjoy comfortable, safe and reliable journeys every day.

The factory tour showcased every stage of production, from the initial design concepts through to final assembly and quality control. It highlighted the dedication and expertise of the teams involved in building coaches that are not only stylish and modern but also engineered to the highest standards.

Reflecting on the visit, Tina commented on how valuable it was to gain a deeper understanding of the people, processes and technology behind the vehicles that play such an important role in Woods Travel’s operations.
