Valentine’s Day will soon be upon us. Whether you love it or hate it, there’s no denying that it’s a great excuse to go and enjoy a meal out and show someone how much you care about them.
If boxes of chocolate and rose bouquets don’t quite seem enough for that special person in your life, why not consider taking them on a romantic excursion or holiday this year too? With trips to a range of beautiful cities, you’re bound to have an incredible time.
Take a look at some of the romantic cities we are visiting this year…
1 – London
How about our very own great Capital city, where you’ll fall in love with what this incredible city has to offer. London is full to bursting with romantic restaurants, the best bars, incredible buildings and a multitude of famous landmarks which are well worth exploring.
Throughout the summer, we’ll be taking a few trips to Buckingham Palace. We’ll be visiting the State Rooms, lavishly furnished with some of the most beautiful treasures from the Royal Collection. You’ll be able to see paintings by Rembrandt, Rubens and Canaletto whilst also viewing incredible sculptures by Canova. There’s the finest English and French literature in the room and exquisite examples of Sevres porcelain. You’ll be in awe of these incredible collections. With this year marking the 200th anniversary of Queen Victoria’s birth, the palace has also put together a special exhibition showing just how she transformed Buckingham Palace into this iconic building seen in London today.
2 – Paris
Paris, arguably the most romantic city in the world. What could be better than treating your loved one to a visit to this beautiful part of the world. There is so much to see and do in this incredibly city. Whether you’re visiting the Eiffel Tower and seeing the incredible views from the top, viewing the breathtaking art in galleries around the city or explore the marvellous architecture of the beautiful buildings all around.
Imagine admiring the views from your own floating hotel, enjoying a panoramic tour of the city by night in comfort as your boat cruises along the Seine. Join us and enjoy all that Paris has to offer on the 14th July for a seven night stay, as we travel in comfort through beautiful Normandy countryside and visit picturesque villages along the way.
3 – Austria
Maybe not a busy city filled with Romance, but as far as exciting romantic trips go a trip to Austria is well worth considering. Join us on the 4th September, discovering the most iconic and picture perfect settings across the spectacular Tyrolean alpine scenery.
Over 180,000 cows, horses, goats and sheep spend their Summers in the mountains, but in September the cows return home; which is celebrated by decorating the cattle with flowers, garlands and bells. This colourful event is one not to be missed and we’ll be enjoying the evening’s entertainment too!
With trips to Linderhof Castle, Hohenschwangau Castle and the Abbey of Ettal included, this eight-day adventure could be the perfect opportunity to treat your loved one to something a little different!
4 – Vianden
One of Europe’s best kept secrets is the town of Vianden, found surrounded by magnificent scenery on the banks of the River Our. This picturesque town has so much to offer, with breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside and beautiful Vianden Castle looking over the town.
Our trip in April is a road trip to remember; we’ll be wine tasting in the Moselle Valley and tour Luxembourg City, with the opportunity to visit the Cathedral or the Grand Ducal Palace, alongside a trip to Trier – Germany’s oldest town.
This is the perfect trip for couples who may want to experience a little bit of tranquility between bustling cities. The views all around really are incredible. There are limited spaces still available on this trip, so enquire soon to secure your spot.
