On this tour we combine the wonders of the Dutch Bulbfields and Keukenhof in spring, the vibrant city of Amsterdam, and the villages of Volendam and Zaanse Schans, all while taking pleasure in the wonderful food, comfort and hospitality of CroisiEurope. Please note: For reasons of navigation and passenger safety, CroisiEurope reserve the right to modify the itinerary of the cruise. *All drinks during meals and at the bar are included. Not included: Champagne, Perrier, wine from the wine list, drinks on excursions.
Day 1 We travel to Dover for the Channel crossing to Dunkirk. We make our way to Amsterdam and join the MS Modigliani in, or close to, the city at around 6pm. Enjoy a cocktail with the crew before dinner.
Day 2 Breakfast on board before a tour of Amsterdam calling at a diamond merchant’s workshop. After lunch on board we depart by coach to Volendam, a traditional Dutch village and then onto Zaanse Schans, an open-air museum to admire over 100 typical wooden houses, windmills and warehouses dating back to the 17th and 18th Centuries. Return on board for dinner, staying in Wijk Bij Duurstede.
Day 3 After a morning cruising towards Rotterdam, we leave for our visit to the glorious Keukenhof Gardens, with time to enjoy the amazing tulip, narcissi and hyacinth displays. Tonight on board is a Gala Evening.
Day 4 We spend our day sailing toward Antwerp, seeing wonderful views, traversing immense locks and sailing through the inland sea. In Antwerp, the ship’s hostess will then lead an exploration of the old city.
Day 5 Breakfast on board before disembarkation. We make our way to Dunkirk to take our afternoon sailing to Dover, where we travel by coach and taxi to our homes.
Part of the CroisiEurope fleet of river cruisers, the MS Modigliani has 78 en-suite cabins on two decks with TV, hairdryer and safe. Facilities include lounge-bar with dance floor, comfortable restaurant (set menu) and sundeck. There is no lift, and main deck cabins are accessed down stairs.
