Day 1 After a morning departure, we travel north making suitable refreshment stops and arriving at our hotel near Darlington late afternoon.

Day 2 We travel over the moors across Blakey Ridge to Pickering, where we join the North Yorkshire Moors Railway for a journey through rugged moorland to Whitby. This maritime town is a delight to explore, through the narrow alleyways or up the steps to the famous Abbey.

Day 3 We begin in Richmond, high above the River Swale, where you might like to visit the Richmondshire Museum, which houses the ‘set’ from ‘All Creatures Great & Small’. Next we join the Wensleydale Railway for a nostalgic ride from Leyburn to Leeming Bar. We finish our day in Thirsk, home of James Herriot, where you might like to visit the World of James Herriot (cost not included).

Day 4 Our first visit is to Preston Hall Museum, a delightful collection of memorabilia and a complete cobbled Victorian street! We then join the Teesside Princess and take a cruise along the River Tees to the cobbled town of Yarm. We complete our day with a drive through Bilsdale, also known as Little Switzerland, over the spectacular Sutton Bank with fantastic views of the moors and the Vale of York.

Day 5 We bid farewell to our hotel and travel southwards, making suitable refreshment stops along the way.
