Day 2 This morning we travel into Cheshire and to Anderton for a cruise including the famous boat lift, which was built in 1875 and provides a 50ft vertical link between the River Weaver and the Trent and Mersey Canal*. We then have free time in the walled city of Chester for lunch, sightseeing and shopping.
Day 3 Today is market day in Oswestry, and after some free time to explore, we visit the British Ironwork Centre to marvel at the many stunning sculptures on show. The rest of our day is in Shrewsbury, one of England’s finest medieval market towns, in a loop of the River Severn.

We have an included horse-drawn boat trip along the Llangollen Canal, some free time in the Victorian town centre, and a nostalgic trip back in time through the Dee Valley to Corwen on the Llangollen Heritage Railway. We return to our hotel via a scenic drive over the famous Horseshoe Pass.
