Itinerary

Day 1 Leaving the local area this morning we travel towards Shropshire and our hotel, stopping en route for lunch and refreshments.

Day 2 Relax and enjoy the leisure facilities in our hotel before we have a cruise along the Llangollen Canal crossing the Pontcysyllte Aquaduct, built by Thomas Telford in 1805. Refreshments are available on board. The afternoon is free in Llangollen or at the hotel.

Day 3 This morning we travel into Cheshire and to Anderton for a cruise including the famous boat lift, which was built in 1875 and provides a 50ft vertical link between the River Weaver and the Trent and Mersey Canal*. We then have free time in the walled city of Chester for lunch, sightseeing and shopping.

Day 4 We take a trip on the Llangollen Heritage Railway, with a journey along the picturesque Dee Valley to Corwen. From here we travel by coach into the Snowdonia National Park to Betws-y-Coed for free time for lunch. We return to our hotel via a scenic drive over the famous Horseshoe Pass.

Day 5 Departing after breakfast, we take a scenic route home, stopping in the Cotswolds for refreshments. We arrive in the local area late afternoon.
