Itinerary

Day 1 Leaving the local area this morning we travel towards Llangollen and our hotel, stopping en route for lunch and refreshments.

Day 2 This morning we travel into Cheshire and to Anderton for a cruise including the famous boat lift, which was built in 1875 and provides a 50ft vertical link between the River Weaver and the Trent and Mersey Canal. We then have free time in the walled city of Chester for lunch, sightseeing and shopping.

Day 3 We take a trip on the Llangollen Steam Railway, with a journey along the picturesque Dee Valley to Carrog. From here we travel by coach into the Snowdonia National Park to Betws-y-Coed for free time for lunch. We return to our hotel via a scenic drive over the famous Horseshoe Pass.

Day 4 Our morning is free in Llangollen with a chance to take advantage of the hotel’s leisure facilities. This afternoon we have a cruise along the Llangollen Canal crossing the Pontcysyllte Aquaduct, built by Thomas Telford in 1805. Refreshments are available on board.

Day 5 Departing after breakfast, we take a scenic route home, stopping in the Cotswolds for refreshments. We arrive in the local area late afternoon.
