Holme Lacy House is the perfect location from which to explore the idyllic Wye Valley and the mysterious Forest of Dean.
Day 1 Our coach will travel west and cross the River Severn into Wales. We continue up the beautiful Wye Valley to our Warner hotel near Hereford.
Day 2 This morning is spent in the historic walled city of Hereford, where you can stroll through the streets, shop or visit the cathedral – home to the famous Mappa Mundi and the world’s largest chained library. The afternoon is free in Hereford or at Holme Lacy.
Day 3 We travel to Symonds Yat and take a 45-minute cruise on the River Wye. We then delve into the Forest of Dean between the Rivers Wye and Severn on a scenic drive. We have a stop in Ross-on-Wye before we return to our hotel.
Day 4 A visit to Ledbury where you will have free time to explore one of the finest black and white towns in the country, with cobbled streets and picturesque half-timbered houses. The afternoon is free at Holme Lacy.
Day 5 Departing after breakfast, we travel back with a suitable stop for lunch and arrive in the local area late afternoon.
Set in the idyllic Wye Valley, this magnificent Grade I listed mansion is mainly 18th-century with ornate ceilings, a majestic sweeping staircase and a stately drawing room. The grounds hold beautiful gardens, an orchard, wooded parklands and a fishing lake. There are abundant leisure facilities including swimming pool, sauna, steam room, gym, tennis, croquet and boules. In addition, there is live nightly entertainment. Our rooms are in the new wing and are equipped with TV, telephone, hairdryer, ironing facilities and hospitality tray. The hotel has WiFi and a lift.
