Cricket St Thomas offers the wonderful mix of excellent accommodation, daily activities and nightly entertainment that you have come to expect from a Warner’s hotel, and from this excellent base we visit some beautiful locations in Devon and Somerset.
Day 1 We make our way to Dorchester with some free time to get refreshments. We continue to Chard and our hotel, to settle in, enjoy dinner and our first night of fantastic entertainment.
Day 2 Today we drive down to the coast to Seaton and board the famous Seaton Tramway for a three-mile journey by narrow gauge tram through the glorious Axe Valley, through two nature reserves, to Colyton. After some free time to get some refreshments, we continue to Sidmouth, for free time in this beautiful Regency town.
Day 3 A free day to enjoy the many facilities at your hotel. Alternatively join your driver for an excursion via Glastonbury to the historic city of Wells, with its lovely cathedral, for free time for sightseeing and lunch and returning to the hotel mid-afternoon.
Day 4 Leaving Chard, we travel to Salisbury for shopping and time for lunch. We then make our way along the coast, and home.
The Regency style elegant mansion of Cricket St Thomas is set within glorious landscaped gardens, and was the original setting for the series ‘To the Manor Born’. Bedrooms, located in the Walled Garden or the Courtyard, are spacious and comfortable with TV, telephone, hairdryer, ironing facilities and hospitality tray. Facilities include WiFi, tennis, croquet, boules, air rifle shooting, indoor swimming pool, spa, sauna and steam rooms. There is a lift, but some walking required on site.
