We are delighted to return once again to See in the Paznaun Valley, where we are assured of a warm welcome from the Mallaun family at their delightful hotel. Situated in the centre of the village, the hotel is ideally located for relaxing walks into the surrounding countryside. During our stay we visit Innsbruck, travel high on some of Austria and Italy’s most beautiful Alpine roads and see breath-taking vistas.
Day 1 An early start to join our coach for travel to Dover and the short sea crossing to Dunkirk. We continue through France and Belgium, and into Germany where we have our overnight hotel.
Day 2 We continue our journey through Germany, crossing into Austria and arriving at See in time for our evening meal.
Day 3 A morning excursion to Innsbruck, the old provincial capital of the Tyrol. We have included a guided tour to help us explore Maria Theresien Strasse and the old quarter with its charming arcaded streets, narrow housefronts and oriel windows. We continue to elegant Seefeld in the afternoon before returning to our hotel. Tonight, we have a guided lantern walk* with Christoph, our host.
Day 4 A spectacular excursion on the Silvretta High Road with our local guide. There are a number of fine look out points and the glaciers, high peaks, mountain villages, lakes, flora and fauna make this the outstanding excursion of the tour. Tonight’s dinner is followed by musical entertainment.
Day 5 We leave Austria today and head into Italian South Tyrol with our local guide. We climb to 1500 metres to cross the Reschen Pass over The Alps, and see the remarkable view of the belltower rising from Lake Reschen. Our destination is Glurns, the smallest and oldest town in South Tyrol, with its pretty medieval centre completely surrounded by the city walls.
Day 6 With our local guide once again, we have an excursion along the awe inspiring Kaunertal Glacier Road, from the valley up to an elevation of 2750 metres, and enjoy the sensational view from the mountain restaurant. Perhaps take a cable car to the top where skiers can be seen every day of the year and the view covers three countries (not included). This evening enjoy a Tyrolean buffet at our hotel.
Day 7 A free day to relax in the village of See and take advantage of the ‘Mountain Wellness Area’ in our hotel. Alternatively, you could use your guest card from our hotel for discounted or free travel on the local buses.
Day 8 We bid farewell to the Mallaun family and commence our return journey through Germany to our overnight hotel with evening meal on arrival.
Day 9 Departing after breakfast we head for Dunkirk to join a short sea crossing to Dover with a mid-evening return to the local area.
