Day 1 After being picked up from your door by taxi, we travel northwards, stopping in St Albans before continuing to our hotel in Marston.

Day 2 This morning explore the historic city of Lincoln, with its beautiful cathedral, interesting shops and labyrinth of alleyways. In the afternoon we visit Tattershall Castle (NT), rising majestically from the flat Lincolnshire Fens. We have a guided tour to take us back through the centuries. Tonight there will be bingo after dinner.

Day 3 We journey west to the Hardwick Estate (NT), which is made up of stunning houses and beautiful landscapes that have been created over the centuries. Hardwick Hall dates from the late 16th Century, and contains many Elizabethan treasures, and we have an included tour (details to be confirmed). In the afternoon we make a short visit to Matlock before returning to our hotel. This evening after dinner we have a quiz.

Day 4 After a leisurely breakfast, our first stop of the day is Stamford, widely regarded as one of the finest stone towns in England, where you have free time to explore. At lunchtime, we move on to Belton House (NT). The perfect English country house, set in its own deer park, Belton was built in the 17th Century and offers delightful gardens, orangery and lakeside walks.

Day 5 Departing after breakfast, we travel southwards making suitable refreshment stops along the way and arrive in the local area late afternoon.
