Day 3 After a leisurely start we head north to Dunham Massey (NT). Set in a magnificent deer park, this Georgian mansion has fine collections of furniture, paintings and silver dating back to 1732. Day 4 A day filled with history and horticulture! We begin at Biddulph Grange (NT) to explore the Grade I listed garden. One of Britain's most exciting and unusual gardens, it was designed by James Bateman with a series of connected compartments including a Chinese garden, Italian garden and Scottish glen. In the afternoon we visit Little Moreton Hall (NT), an iconic Tudor manor house, with wonky angles and quirky character. There is a manicured knot garden and a small orchard across the moat.
Day 5 We visit Tatton Park (NT), a grand country estate set in 1000 acres of historic deer park. The neo-classical mansion contains an impressive collection of fine art, books and furnishings. You can also explore the award- winning gardens, including historic glasshouses, formal gardens, walled kitchen garden and the 100-year-old Japanese Garden. The estate’s own farm is home to rare breed farm animals, working machinery and fascinating demonstrations.
