Enjoy a wonderful Easter break in Torquay’s highest rated three-star hotel and discover the gorgeous coastline by road, river and heritage railway.
Day 1 We travel west by coach, making suitable refreshment stops along the way and arriving at our hotel in Torquay to relax before dinner.
Day 2 We are joined by a local Blue Badge Guide today for a tour which travels along the coast through Teignmouth, Dawlish and Exmouth, then back through Kingsteignton and Newton Abbott. We return to Torquay mid-afternoon, for free time in the town.
Day 3 This morning, board the Dartmouth Steam Railway for a scenic journey from Paignton to Kingswear which travels seven miles along the spectacular Torbay coast, and through the wooded slopes bordering the Dart Estuary. We then cross on the passenger ferry to Dartmouth Harbour where our boat will be waiting to take us for a one-hour cruise of the lower River Dart, first up to Agatha Christie’s holiday home, and then back down to the mouth of the river, all with entertaining commentary! Enjoy some time in Dartmouth afterwards, before meeting our coach back at the harbour. On the way back to the hotel, take a stop in Totnes for some time to look around.
Day 4 We depart after breakfast and have a stop in Winchester for shopping and a chance to get some lunch. We reach the local area mid-afternoon.
