An autumn tour to the wonderful resort of Torquay, on Devon’s English Riviera. The Belgrave Sands offers comfort, style, and excellent service. We have time to enjoy Torquay and the wonderful hospitality of our hosts.
Day 1 We make our way west, making suitable refreshment stops along the way. We arrive in Torquay and reach our hotel late afternoon.
Day 2 This morning we travel to the port city of Plymouth to explore The Box, an award-winning museum and art gallery. There is free time to get some lunch in town. In the afternoon we discover the incredible underwater world at the National Marine Aquarium, where you have free time to explore.
Day 3 We drive into the wild beauty of Dartmoor National Park visiting Princetown and Buckfast Abbey, a fascinating place still home to a community of Benedictine monks. This afternoon we have a 14-mile return steam journey on the South Devon Railway to Totnes alongside the River Dart.
Day 4 A free day to enjoy the elegant resort town of Torquay or join your driver on a half day visit to Exeter, where you might like to visit the magnificent cathedral.
Day 5 We depart after breakfast and stop in Winchester with time for lunch and shopping. We then make our way home.
Situated close to Torquay’s seafront, the hotel boasts leisure facilities which include small gym, swimming pool, sauna and steam room. Bedrooms have TV, telephone, WiFi, hairdryer and hospitality tray. The hotel has a lift to most rooms and there is nightly entertainment.
