Within easy reach of our hotel overlooking the Humber Bridge, we find the pretty market town of Beverley and the impressive and historic cities of Lincoln and York.
Day 1 After our door to door service, we travel north making suitable refreshment stops along the way and arriving at our hotel late afternoon, we are greeted with tea and coﬀee.
Day 2 We cross the impressive Humber Bridge into Lincolnshire, and begin our stay in Lincoln with a short guided tour. After free time for your own exploration and to get some lunch, we visit the magniﬁcent cathedral, one of Europe’s ﬁnest Gothic buildings, and full of fascinating detail.
Day 3 We spend the morning in Beverley, where the Minster dates back to 1220 and is one of Britain’s ﬁnest examples of medieval Gothic architecture. The historic streets house a range of interesting shops and cafés. This afternoon we visit Burton Constable Hall, a glorious Elizabethan mansion with over 30 rooms ﬁlled with ﬁne art, antique furniture and over 500 years of family history.
Day 4 We journey through the East Riding of Yorkshire to the remarkable city of York. We meet a local guide for an introductory tour, pointing out the places worth further exploration and giving us some historical information. The rest of the day is free in the city. Our ﬁnal night at our hotel will feature a locally themed quiz and a glass of wine with dinner.
Day 5 Departing after breakfast, we travel home with suitable refreshment stops and reach the local area in the late afternoon to meet our taxis.
Our award-winning four-star boutique hotel is in an enviable position with panoramic views over the Humber Estuary and has a pleasant bar, lounge and gym. Bedrooms have TV, telephone, WiFi, ironing facilities, hairdryer and hospitality tray. There is no lift, and very few ground ﬂoor rooms.
